More Holo Prettiness

This is one I made by mixing Spectraflair with a clear coat. I did the whole manicure and then messed up the middle finger. In between the time I did the manicure and I messed it up I had thinned it out a little with polish thinner, so it applied a little differently. You can kind of see it in the pictures. This is 3 coats of polish and then a coat of Out The Door. So now I have a lot of holo polish since I have the one I bought from Dollish Polish also.

Holo Green Prettiness

I didn't feel like anything dark today so I pulled this out of my untried section. I got it in a blog sale. It is Kleancolor Holo Green .
I was surprised at how even this applied, even on the first coat. The first coat dried pretty quickly, but the more coats the longer it took to dry.
I figured that this wouldn't become opaque and that I would have a visible nail line, but I was okay with that. I just wanted something light and fun. I used 4 coats and it is almost opaque. I was surprised it built up as well as it did.
Plus is it just me or does Kleancolor have an interesting smell..kinda like Fruit Stripe gum?
This is a really pretty light green. If the other holos in this collection are this pretty I will have to look into getting more.

In Search Of Catrice and Joe Fresh Polish

I'm really looking for someone who can get either Catrice or Joe Fresh polish or both and is wanting to do a swap. I really would love to try these brands, or any other brands that I can't get.
If you are interested send me an email. My email can be found in my profile. :)

Meet Me Under the Mistletoe

I decided to do a full manicure with Meet Me Under the Mistletoe by Orly. I loved this polish in the bottle. It looks gorgeous. See for yourself.

Unfortunately it doesn't transfer it's gorgeousness to the nail as you don't really get any of the light green/yellow or the blue. It is a pretty color on the nail, but not as pretty as it is in the bottle. It took me 3 coats to get it even. The brush is thin, but still works well. It also dried fairly quickly, although not as fast as the matte Iron Butterfly
One thing I do like about these polishes is the size. I didn't realize that the bottles are as large as they are. It is 18mL.
So far I really like the Orly polish that I have and can't wait to try more.

Hits Demeter

I keep wanting to call this Dementor, like in the Harry Potter books, but it isn't the color I think a Dementor would be. Maybe I should Franken something. hmmmm......

Anyway, I got this at the Thanksgiving sale at Llarowe. It came in the mail today, so a great turn around time, especially since you know she had to be slammed with the holiday sale.
Demeter is from the Hits No Olimpo Collection. It is called a true orange holographic nail polish.
When it got here it wasn't as orange as I was expecting/hoping for. It is leaning a little more to the light orange/coral side. However it is still a lovely color. It is also not as holographic as some other polishes I have seen.
It is slightly thin and took 3 coats for coverage. There is still a very light visible nail line. It also dried a little slower than I thought it would.
The bottle is tiny, especially for being $10.00. It is 6mL, compared to my regular polish which ranges from around 10-15mL.
Based on this one polish I am not sure that I would purchase more from this collection, unless I found it on sale. However I would be willing to order from Llarowe again.

One for the Birds

We all know that I am not good at nail art, but I thought I would give it a try again when I saw this cute turkey at Finger-Painted. Hers is done on a nail wheel and since my nails aren't that long I had to adjust it.
I used L.A. Girls Psychedelic for the nails that didn't have the turkey. I used a base of White by E.L.F. and it still took 4 coats to get it to cover.
I showed my son the turkey and asked him what he thought it was. He said a gingerbread man, so I guess this can be added to the fail pile with the rest of my nail art. Oh well, I tried.
For the turkey I used E.L.F. Smoky Brown, China Glaze Red Velvet, and Maybelline Orange Ole. The eyes were just E.L.F. White and Wet N Wild Ebony Hates Chris.
Everything was topped with a coat of Out The Door.
All pictures were taken with Artificial Sunlight

Meet Me Under the Mistletoe Toxic Avenger

This manicure started off with Toxic Avenger from Dollish Polish. It is such an awesome polish. I love it. It applies fairly well since it is a mini bottle and therefore has a little brush. I used 2 coats, although it could have used a third. Yesterday I started noticing tip wear and a few little chips. I didn't want to take it off though so I did a tape manicure using Orly Meet Me Under the Mistletoe.
I really don't have an opinion on the Orly yet since I only used it on half of my nail. It seemed to cover well though so I am excited to use it as a full manicure.

this was after 3 days..minor tip wear

How Orly Bonder Saved My Marriage

My husband is a great guy normally. He is patient, kind, and considerate. However, he was tired of the house always smelling like nail polish or nail polish remover, tired of me complaining that my polish would peel off in less than a day. He was ready to chuck all my polish out the window and be done with it. He tried to be supportive but there is only so much a guy can take.
Isn't he cute?
Just look at those curls!

It didn't matter what I did or what products I used, my polish was destined to peel. I wasn't supposed to have nice nails for more than 6 hours. Then Orly Bonder made it's way into my life. I'm not sure why I picked up this particular one from all the base coats at Sally's that day, but I am glad I did.
I have had my polish on for 3 days and there is no peeling. There is some minor tip wear from normal everyday use but my polish is still there! I'm so happy that I can now keep my beautiful polishes on for more than 1/2 a day and my husband is happy the house has had time to air out and that I am no longer complaining. Thank you Orly!

My First Zoya!

I got this from Makeup Zombie's blog sale. I mislabeled it yesterday. It is actually Zoya Indigo.
This is a really pretty blackened blue with some glitter in it.
It was a little thicker than I thought it would be, but it still applied really well. It fully covered in 2 coats.
I will add a little polish thinner before the next time I use it. I imagine it will still cover in 2 coats.
I did have a small issue with a couple of the bristles coming out onto my nails.
Even with the issues it was worth it for this gorgeous color!

Orly Iron Butterfly

This is one of the Orlys I got in the mail today. It is from the Metal Chic collection.
After using this one Orly I want a lot more. This was by far the best polish I have used!
The directions say to put on two coats and no top coat.

Iron Butterfly went on so smoothly I could have gotten away with one coat, but I decided to follow the instructions and do two. They look great! I love the look of these.
I thought I might have a problem with the brush because it is a little thin but there was no issue with it.
I love how the handle is slightly contoured and rubberized.

I can't believe that it took me this long to try Orly. I guess it was the price that made me shy away, but now I don't think that will be an issue. I can't wait to try out the other one I got and get some more.

More Nail Mail

I got some nail mail today..plus I'm still waiting on at least one more package.
Today's package came from a blog sale at Makeup Zombie. I got my first Zoya and Orly's. I swatched them and then couldn't figure out what I wanted to actually wear. I finally decided on my Coraline Franken. I know it doesn't make much sense to use something I have already worn when I have untrieds but nothing else sounded good. I'm kind of in a blah mood. I have no issue with buying polish..just don't know what to actually put on my nails.

Giveaway Winners!

I drew the winners for my Minis Giveaway today. I used Random.org to pick the winners. The first number that it came up with was:

Rochelle's blog is Elle-Hime.
You should check it out.
She has nail polish, of course, but also does reviews and swatches of other makeup.
Plus she is a total sweetheart.

The second winner that Random.org picked out was:

Kirshten's blog is KK Nails.
She is a teenager and already does nail art way better than I do! lol!

Plus if you checked out my post about my entire collection and nail mail you would have seen at the end I offered a little flash giveaway. There were 4 correct entries.
The answer was Leonard Hofstadter from The Big Band Theory.
However I put everyone that entered into the drawing even if they didn't guess correctly.
I had Iven pick a number between 1-5 and he picked 5.
The winner is:
Stella from My Wet Nails

I have contacted all the winners and have already received one reply.
If the other two winners don't get back to me in the allotted time I will draw new winners.
Thank you to everyone that entered and reads my blog. :) <3

Yeah, Baby, Yeah!

A lot of posts from me today..sorry about that. In this one I am going to show you Yeah, Baby, Yeah! from Dollish Polish
This is a fun purple with tiny blue glitter, red bar glitter, and blue hex glitter. This one took me 3 coats to get all the thin spots covered. The first coat was a little streaky but the second and third coat really evened it out. If you are better at painting your nails you might be able to get it totally covered in 2 coats. It comes in a basic mini bottle so the brush is a little small. I notice I do better with the bigger flat brushes than with the round ones, so maybe that was part of my problem.
As you will see in the pictures almost none of the hex glitter made it to my nails. I had one piece on my left thumb on the second coat, but it got covered on the third coat. I also got one piece on my right index finger on my third coat. Even without the hex glitter this polish is a lot of fun.
My cuticles are a little rough right now and clean up wasn't that great, but that is how it is sometimes. lol!
